No.99 – October,2013 – My lovely Chameleons in transformation of a black half-battery. I believe this is one of the best Chameleon-problems I have.

Solutions:

a) 1…cBd2-e3=cR 2.Ra5-e5 cSd3-f2=cB + 3.Kd4-c5 Rh3-h4 4.Re5-e8 + cRe3*e8=cQ #

b) 1…Sh3-g5 2.Ra5-f5 cSd3-c5=cB + 3.Kd4-e5 cBd2-a5=cR 4.Rf5-f8 + cBc5*f8=cR #

Black half-battery transforms into new batteries created reciprocally by its forward pieces, two Chameleons: cB/cR on the diagonal in solution a), and cR/cB on the orthogonal in solution b). Anti-critical moves of the white Rook. Meredith.
