In the first pair of solutions the move Qxg5 is repeated,a slight blemish, but at least this gives true Novotny-like impression of the B/R play on g5. In the second pair of solutions all white moves are made by B/R, with transformation of halfpin to battery and selfblock by black. In both pairs of solutions there is reciprocal change of functions B/R and all four mates are model. (Authors)

Very nice despite the repeated 2.Q:g5. However, with an existing battery and half pin arrangements one expected some pin mates. The solutions are a surprise ! (or disappointment? 🙂 )
