No.758 by Geoff Foster –  A neutral King in a Back-To-Back problem! (JV)

Back-To-Back: When pieces of opposite colors stand back-to-back with each other on the same file (white piece is on the top of black!), they exchange their roles. A pawn on the first rank cannot move. Any piece can make an en passant capture when it has got a role of Pawn by Back-To-Back.

Another way to solve the riddle “how to mate a neutral king with a neutral, without giving self-check”! The mating neutral must move differently for White and Black, and here BTB takes care of that.

I like it. Strangely, with all units neutral, seems like a series self-mate overall, but it really isn’t since the on/off of Black/White turn influence is used.
