No.447 by Pierre Tritten – Interesting Annihilation captures demonstrated by the black Queen! (JV)
No.447.1 by Pierre Tritten – Improvement to No.447 -by author’s words: “The economy is improved, thanks to hints given by Nikola Predrag!” (JV)
Definitions:
Take & Make: Having captured, a unit must immediately, as part of its move, play a non-capturing move in imitation of the captured unit from the capture-square. If no such move is available, the capture is illegal. Promotion by capture occurs only when a pawn arrives on the promotion rank as the result of a take&make move. Checks are as in normal chess: after the notional capture of the checked K, the checking unit does not move away from the King’s square.

The Dancing Queen ! I wish the first white move was possible with WK.
Nice..
BQ annihilates WR/WB.. then switches back so that it can get captured by them.. after which they can move to each other’s squares..
The BPf7 and WPh2 execute supportive T&M actions..
For once, I’m able to visualise the final positions in a T&M problem.. without needing a physical or electronic board..!
Fantastic!
Pierre is a great expert of the take&make.
Pierre, congratulations on your superb idea!
Obviously, you analyzed also this option with the activity of wK and minus 3 P:
White Ra7 Rg6 Pe5 Bc2 Kg2 (5)
Black Ba8 Sd8 Bh8 Pf7 Qh7 Pa6 Pb5 Kc5 Rd5 Pg5 Pb4 Rh3 Pb2 (13)
H#2 2 solutions
Take & Make
I. 1.f7*g6-b6 Kg2*h3-e3 2.Qh7*c2-h7 Ra7*h7-c2 #
II. 1.f7*g6-c6 Kg2*h3-b3 2.Qh7*a7-h7 Bc2*h7-a7 #
Thanks seetharaman, shankar, Antonio & Janos 🙂
@Janos : yes, when constructing the problem, I didn’t want wK on b3. Extra P are surely a great price paid to get model mates.
Great idea. The function of bRg3 is poor to my taste but at least it goes well with much more complex motivation for fxRg6 which includes the Antizielelement. Active sacrifices would be nicer but the shortness of h#2 hardly allows it. Passive sacrifice in one phase and some activity of the same piece in the other phase would show a bit of respect to that piece. Perhaps I’m too sensitive about the pieces 🙂
Anyway, great problem except for the economy. Black Bishops and Ph6 could be removed with bPd5 instead of bR, if wK stands on the proper square.
Once more, well done, Nikola for this great improvement of economy! I naturally also tried bPd5 but couldn’t see the right way to make the problem sound.
I also don’t like much bRg3 but didn’t find anything better.
Pierre, you can remove three pawns and to make an active white King in very easy way. See the version on this link: http://prntscr.com/2aab85
Probably even better improvement is possible. Hope you will find it.
Ohh, sorry… I didn’t saw that this option was already presented by Janos and your answer…
