Masand: When a piece X gives a direct check with its move, all pieces of the same color controlled by X and all pieces of opposite color attacked by X, except for the Kings, change color. Masand Generalised: the both, direct and indirect check work.

This problem shows a typical idea in Masand. A black Pawn on its second rank becomes white, following a check, then is promoted on the eighth rank. The Zajic theme is also present : A piece (here a Knight) plays on a square x (here d8), is captured on x by a piece(Pawn ç7), this piece is captured again by the King. (Author)
A short solution, but with many effects :
1.Bf3+! discovered check provokes three changes of colour of pieces :
Knight ç5, Bishop b6 and Pawn ç7 become white.
It would be not the case in simple Masand (only direct checks provoke change of colour of pieces). But 1.Bf3+! also "cuts" the third rank to prepare check
on d3 by Queen without to change the colour of h3 Pawn. Pawn ç7 is then promoted as white (like with the T) and to Knight this time !
Final stalemate is realised only by minor pieces. (Author)
