Masand: A unit which moves and actively checks changes the colour of all the units – enemy and its own (not Ks) – which it observes after the move. A checking rear (non-moving) piece of a battery would not recolour the units it observes.
In the diagram, which looks very orthodox only the double pawn g3, g4 is a hint for fairy elements. Further the white and the black bishop change color and position. In fact the problem is C-, so there is still a chance for cooking....
In fact I was influenced by JF No.1146.2 (Paul Rãican) in so far as I was impressed by the possibilities of masand in proof games!
So I want to dedicate it to Paul Rãican (hoping the problem will not be cooked as it is usual for dedicated C- problems :-) I also hope he will enjoy it (even if my problem is very straight forward and much less complex than his...) (Author)
Cooked: 1. g4 d6 2. Sa3 Kd7 3. Sb1 Kc6 4. Bg2+[bRh1] Kd7 5. Bf1 Rxg1 6. Sa3 Rg3 7. hxg3 Ke8 8. Sb1 d5
Hi Joost,
Thank you… and it looks not easy to fix it…. But let’s see
