Losing Chess: The must-capture rule applies. Kings are non-royal: they can move into check and be captured, pawns may promote to king. As a playable game, the objective is to lose all one’s pieces; a stalemated (i.e. deadlocked) player wins.

White Ceriani-Frolkin-rook (cf. 9.h3!, which proves that the captured white piece at c6 is not a queen), switchbacks by the wSg1 and the bSb8, double homebase. This proof game is C+ by the latest version (v0.4) of François Labelle’s “Jacobi”, and this program has become even faster: Testing my problem no.1253 took 5 hours; this new problem only needed an incredible 20 seconds!
