I thought that the same piece should continue moving, not the same kind of piece.

Same piece only. but 5…Qe6+ forces white to move a different piece, which would not be possible if 5.bxc8=B. That 6.Se2 is by the same kind of piece is incidental!
In P1090553, it is not clear to me as to why 5.bxc8=B is not possible?
