No.532 by Ján Golha – A Four-men Aristocrat with Echo-play! (JV)
Definitions:
Parrain Circe: After a capture, the captured piece is reborn only after another piece of its own side has moved. The line between capturing square and rebirth square is parallel with and of same direction and length as the move of this other piece. Pawns can be reborn on 1st and 8th rank. From their own base rank, they may move one-step; if reborn on the promotion rank, the Pawn at once promotes, the promotion piece being determined by the Pawn side.
Grasshopper(G): Moves along Q-lines over another unit of either color to the square immediately beyond that unit. A capture may be made on arrival, but the hurdle is not affected.
Locust(L): Moves along Queen lines only by capturing an enemy unit, arriving on the square immediately beyond that unit, which must be vacant.

Nice echo mates! But the weak point is that almost all white moves are forced !
As far as I can see, Three of the six White moves are forced. Among them is the mating move, so this could have been a hs# (with reversed colours) – would that be better?
The mate is quite interesting, but to my mindthere is another weak point: the three solutions are exactly the same, only moved one or two lines up the board. I Think this takes most of the interest out of the echos.
I think Kjell got the point about hs# right! The final zugzwang mate would suit hs# better !
I agree hs# is much better
