No.551 by Igor Kochulov – A nice Duplex play in Meredith form! (JV)
Definition:
Circe: Captured units (not Ks) reappear on their game-array squares, of the same colour in the case of pieces, on the file of capture in the case of pawns, and on the promotion square of the file of capture in the case of fairy pieces. If the rebirth square is occupied the capture is normal.

Very interesting idea. Using neutral pieces for Duplex form is nice. Pity those static white pieces are essential !
Yes indeed, Igor finds the interesting ways to avoid the traps of Duplex twinning, particularly in hs# genre. Reciprocal functions of the Neutrals, different final positions of both Kings and the different Circe rebirths of the same Neutrals are very fine.
wRb7 is not so bad as wSb2. wPb3,b2 would be better than wS. Instead of wRb7, there could be wSa8+bPd7, or wQb7 would spare bPc6, or wBb7,wSd5,bPc6->d7, but that’s all probably a matter of personal taste.
I would try to increase the multi-functioning of the pieces with bBe5 instead of bP, for example:
White Sd5 Pc4 Ph4 Pb3 Kd2
Black Pd7 Pc6 Kd6 Be5 Pd3
Neutral Bd8 Rd4
Stipulation Hs#3
Condition Circe
duplex
