No.113 – h#2 by Gani Ganapathi –  Fine model mates after dynamical play of the both sides. Black castlings are a surprising moves here! (JV)

Definitions:

Grasshopper(G): Moves along Q-lines over another unit of either color to the square immediately beyond that unit. A capture may be made on arrival, but the hurdle is not affected.

Gnu: S + Camel

Gnu Rieder: As Nightrieder but on Gnu-lines only.

Nightrider(N): A Rider along a straight line on squares lying a Knight`s move away from each other.

Super-Circe – When captured, a piece is reborn on any free field on the chess board without causing self-check or selfmate. Possible is also removal of captured piece from the board. The Pawns (white, black, neutrals, half- neutrals) can be reborn on the first or eight row also. When reborn on the first row  (for Black) or on the eight row (for White) the promotion is obligatory. When reborn on the first row  (for White) or on the eight row (for Black) the Pawns are immovable.

Ganapathy’s idea is very interesting. He has nicely avoided symmetric mate. But, This setting has the weakness that in the first solution the Gnu-rider functions as a Gnu only. Its rider properties are not utilised.

I presume that a Gnu-rider operates like a combination of Nightrider/Camelrider.

I wonder if Gnu (rather than Gnu-rider) might be enough for the second solution also if modified suitably.

I would be actually more concerned with the use of Gb1 (than gnurider instead of gnu).
Grasshopper is clearly a technical piece, just statically guarding some squares. Although this is a serious flaw, I can understand it is very difficult to create the correct position with super strong Super Circe.

No.113 And I,’m even more concerned about “Super” which seems superflouos in a) and generally irrelevant for the captures of bR.

Well spotted, Nikola! In fact the only Super use is in capture of Pe7. My blindness to this fact was caused by actual tries to improve the content. I was trying to provide hurdles to wG by captures and thus Super Circe was fully infused into my brain in this position.

I am thankful to all the four expert comments.
Shall try to work differently with the idea.
