Lion (LI): Moves along Queen lines over another unit of either color to any square beyond that unit. A capture may be made on arrival, but the hurdle is not affected.
Rose (RO): (1,2) Octagonal Rider (extents the move of the Knight on a circular path e.g. a4-b6-d7-f6-g4-f2-d1-b2 or a4-c5-e4-f2).
Rook-Lion(RL): Moves like Lion, but on Rook lines only.
Bishop-Lion(BL): Moves like Lion, but on Bishop lines only.
Rose-Lion (RN): Moves like a Lion, but on Rose lines only.

Reciprocal change of mates, based on the different behaviours of the Rose-Lion in the
checking programs. May be an original kind of twinning.
Dedicated to Vlaicu in reference to his famous article published in Feenschach.
(The 2 behaviours of the Rose-Lion can be checked by Winchloe [may be by Popeye too, I don’t know], with the condition “une piece ne peut pas capturer son sautoir”; so I could have submitted the problem just with a twin b) adding this condition; nevertheless I prefer the
present twinning various reasons: more original, also in my view there is no condition here, just 2 different kind of fairy pieces, and also I prefer showing first the “Popeye” solution) (Author)
Reciprocal change caused solely by the different implementations in the two solving programs! That’s a very original concept, realized in a very logical mechanism.
The main effect is that if a white rose-lion can capture its hurdle after a full circle, then a black rose-lion can do the same.

Dear Jean-Marc, thank you very much for the dedication of this very interesting composition! I simply loved the humorous presentation of the idea, which raised a huge smile on my face.

it seems that in my winchloe, “une piece ne peut pas capturer son sautoir” exists but the program cannot solve with it !
The Popeye version can be tested in WinChloe too: there is a fairy piece called “Rose-Lion limitée à 7 bonds” which works just like the Popeye Rose-Lion. Which confirms the author’s statement “there is no condition here, just 2 different kind of fairy pieces”.
