Does White’s final move have to be a check? Even with the bK on a different square (e.g. bK on d7), Black’s only move would be 7…f1=nS#, because this is the only double-check.

Clearly the bK has to be on h1, to force the order of the moves 1.g8=nR 2.nRg2 3.a8=nQ. However after that I think the bK could be on lots of other squares, with White’s final move not being a check.
