Circe: Captured units (not Ks) reappear on their game-array squares, of the same colour in the case of pieces, on the file of capture in the case of pawns, and on the promotion square of the file of capture in the case of fairy pieces. If the rebirth square is occupied the capture is normal.
Berolina-Pawn(BP): Walk and capture are swapped relative to the orthodox Pawn. The Berolina-Pawn moves without capturing diagonally (possibly two squares if it is on the second row of its side) and captures vertically.
NAO(NA): Chinese piece operating along the lines of Nightrider: moves as Nightrider, but captures only by hopping over a hurdle to any square beyond. (Nightrider(N): (1,2) Rider. Operates along straight lines with squares lying a Knight’s move away from each other.)
PAO(PA): Chinese piece operating along Rook lines: moves as Rook, but captures only by hopping over a hurdle to any square beyond.
VAO(VA): Chinese piece operating along Bishop lines: moves as Bishop, but captures only by hopping over a hurdle to any square beyond.
Dolphin(DO): Grasshopper + Kangaroo. Moves along Queen-lines over 1 (Grasshopper) or 2 (Kangaroo) hurdles (which may or may not stand on adjacent squares) to the square immediately beyond the first or second hurdle. A capture may be made on arrival, but the hurdles are not affected.
Grasshopper 3(G3): Moves along Q-lines over another unit of either color (as Grasshopper), but to the 3rd square on the same line after the hurdle. A capture may be made on arrival, but the hurdle is not affected.
Giraffe(GI): (1,4) Leaper.
Locust(L): Moves along Queen lines only by capturing an enemy unit, arriving on the square immediately beyond that unit, which must be vacant.
Royal piece: Piece that executes a function of the King on the board.
