No.321 by Themistoklis Argirakopoulos – A fine marine AUW demonstrated with tries! (JV)
Definitions:
Siren (SI): A piece that plays as a Queen but captures only as a Locust.
Nereid (NE): A piece that plays as a Bishop but captures only as a Locust.
Triton (TR): A piece that plays as a Rook but captures only as a Locust.
Marine Knight (MS): A piece that moves as Knight provided the destination square is vacant, but captures an enemy on (1,2) by leaping to (2,4) – which again must be vacant.
Marine pawn (MP): moves as a pawn, but captures by hopping over its enemy diagonally forward. MP may be captured en passant by an enemy Pawn or Marine Pawn and may capture en passant an enemy Pawn or Marine Pawn.
The Marine Pawn can promote to Siren, Triton, Nereid, Marine Knight or to any other fairy or orthodox piece that stands on the board.
Locust (L): moves on Q-lines but only by capturing an enemy unit, arriving on the square immediately beyond that unit, which must be vacant.

Tested by Popeye 4.63, 64 bit under Fancy 2.9
This version of Fancy is old. There is no support for marine pawns, so I had to enter a random fairy piece at the diagram and then change its notation to marine pawn, like :
White >MPMP” and “<")
Works fine, no other solutions or bugs. No such problems by using WinChloe. C+ by both programs.
White MPf7 Kb5 Pg3 NDf1
Black Pd6 Pd5 NDe5 Kd4 MPe2 Pf2
Oh, sorry, sorry! I’ve used NE code for Nereid in Popeye by mistake (looking at WinChloe’s solutions), but it is ND, and the problem is C+ by popeye as well! I’ve corrected the comment.
