PWC: When a capture is made, the captured unit (except a King) is replaced on the square the capturing unit just leaves. A Pawn is immovable on its 1st rank.

Nice series problem Vlaicu! The diagram seems incorrect, though. It is C+ Popeye v4.61 with bPg7->f7.
With bPf7 the “cook” given by Popeye v4.63 etc is also quite entertaining!
I suppose the problem with the diagrammed position is the dual 3.Kf7/Kd7 in the first solution? A real problem, yes, so the diagram does seem wrong.
There is at least one cook that can’t be fixed: in the second solution 6.Bxd7(+nPe8=nQ) works just as well.
Sorry, please ignore my earlier post. The nPe8 is a captured black pawn, which would not promote on e8!
Agreed! I was referring to: 1.Ke6-d7 2.Kd7*d8[+nPd7] 3.Kd8-e7 1.nPd7-d8=nR 2.nRd8*e8[+nPd8=nQ] #
Yes it is C+ only Winchloe with black pawn on f7 instead of g7
SL
Pg7 moved to f7 (agreed with the author).
Thank you very much, Julia!
There is life for neutral pawns on the 8th rank, isn’t it?
