No.194 – h#2 by Paul Răican – Nice play of both Neutral Pawns! (JV)

Definitions:

Anti-Super-Circe: After a capture, the side making the capture can place the capturing unit on any empty square. [Placement is compulsory]. A Pawn placed on its first rank is immovable.

Circe: Captured units (not Ks) reappear on their game-array squares, of the same colour in the case of pieces, on the file of capture in the case of pawns, and on the promotion square of the file of capture in the case of fairy pieces. If the rebirth square is occupied the capture is normal.

Mirror Circe: Like Circé, but the rebirth square of a piece is the square occupied at the beginning of an orthodox game by a piece of the same kind and of the other side. Related to the square they occupied before the rebirth:

  • – Rooks, Bishops and Knights are reborn on the square of the same color.
  • – Pawns (including fairy Pawns) are reborn on the same file.
  • – Other fairy pieces are reborn on the same file and on the promotion rank of the other side.
