Chameleon Chess: All pieces on the board which are displayed as orthodox Q, R, B, S, are Chameleons. A Pawn can promote only in Chameleon-pieces. (Chameleon: On completing a move, a Chameleon (from classical standard type) changes into another piece, in the sequence Q-S-B-R-Q… Promotion may be to a chameleon at any stage in the cycle).
Circe Chameleon: When a piece is captured it transforms according to the scheme S>B>R>Q>S, then it is replaced on its Circerebirth square (game-array squares, of the same colour in the case of pieces, the file of capture in the case of pawns, the promotion square of the file of capture in the case of fairy pieces.).

Simple but pretty
…and also C+ Winchloe
I suppose being “C+ Winchloe” is a desirable extra qualification !
Dear M. Seetharaman,
I register each day all the problems of Julia’s Fairies, also those of KobulChess, so I can inform the population if a problem is C+ or not ! 🙂
-“I suppose being “C+ Winchloe” is a desirable extra qualification !”-
I don’t see what that should mean.
That C+ by both programs means the same bugs in both programs?
Or, different bugs with the accidentally same solutions for a certain problem?
If the two programs use different rules, the different solutions are expected, or a problem is probably shallow and misses the essence of a certain condition.
Why C+ by both programs should be adored?
Nikola… you got me wrong. Apparently Mr.Luce Sebastian likes to certify problems as being “C+ in Winchloe”. I merely asked if that is going to be touted by him as a desirable added merit for problems in future !! Perhaps the sarcasm was not correctly worded !
Oh, no Seetharaman, I actually did understand your words as a question about the point of Sebastian’s appproach.
I just (mis)used it as a quotation, to ask some more questions.
The “population” indeed should be thankful for Sebastian’s and Erich’s patience and work with databases. Information about a fact “C+ by Winchloe” could be more or less interesting but it’s good to have it.
However, Sebastian’s comments sound as though Winchloe was the “supreme judge” of the human creation.
Dear Nikola, M. Seetharaman,
I indicate C+ Winchloe for two reasons :
a) The composers and Julia seem not to test the problems with Winchloe, but it is easy for me registering the problems of JF every day for Winchloe database to give this information.
b) Very often, some problems with multiple fairy conditions published on Julia’s Fairies are not C+ Winchloe
(probably not C+ at all).
When Christian explains the (logical) reasons of that,
he is not very often heard…
By the way another interesting info:
Orbit award 2011-2012-2013-2014
is now registered in Winchloe database.
I invite the composers to join to the difficult but NECESSARY task to register the problems published every day.
To do it the best & quicker program is Winchloe.
You can contact me at luceechecs@gmail.com to know what is done & what is necessary to be done.
Best to all
Dear Sebastian, your effort is worth praising, and I said that.
I just say that it’s the human mind that supervises and interprets the computer’s procedure and output.
“C+ by both programs” could be deceptive, there could still be some similar or very different mistakes in the procedure.
Different outputs at least warn us to reconsider them with respect to the genuine definitions and general principles.
The efforts of Sebastian Luce and Erich Bartel and many others who take a lot of time and effort to update the problem databases is to be greatly appreciated. Thanks to these databases ony we are emboldened to try some of the familiar themes hoping to find something new.
Dear Sebastian, dont think that I underestimate the great benefit such efforts. Thanks again.
