Position in b) is illegal in Anti-Köko. Why not have twin f5->f1 with the same solution?

One composer took the view on an original submitted by him –. that the fairy condition applies to the diagram and unless retro play is involved legality of the position is an issue

Thank you sir. True that moving the f5 bishop to either f1 or a6 has the same solution and solves the issue. And Seetharaman sir’s clarification looks convincing too. Strange that even such apparently open miniatures too can be illegal with this condition!

Previous composed examples on this condition too haven’t thought in this angle it seems.

Without thoughts about legality I regretted the twin broke the social distance of all the play. It seems to me simply nicer to keep the distance with a twin like the one suggested by Joost.

It is true that legality is not required in problems with fairy conditions or pieces, unless they have a retro element. In this case however, avoiding illegality is free and therefore preferable. If it were my problem, I would take Joost’s suggestion without a second thought.

Nice to know these. I’d too definitely love to have the twin at f1 instead of d3,Thank you all for the comments!

I am not sure which is legal & which is not legal with some fairy conditions. For example, if the legality is strictly applied then no problem with PWC fairy condition can exist without all 32 pieces on the board.
I have a feeling that for fairy problems the legality need not be applied for the diagram position. But it is only my opinion.
There are many fairy experts who can clarify this.
