Eric, Vlaicu, would you, please, clarify, what “the same piece” mean? The same entity or the same kind? 🙂 Like, if Chameleon piece in any stage would be the same piece? Or promoted pawn?
In a case of battery play, if a forward or rear piece considered mating piece? Thanks!
The same piece means the same unit. The unit may change during the solution by promotion or by some fairy property (Chameleon is an example of such a property).
The forward piece of the battery is considered the mating piece.
Eric & Vlaicu, please say: are promotions of the same Black Pawn thematic?
