  • (20.11) No.1253 – Bernd Gräfrath (PG 11; Losing Chess). Dedicated to François Labelle for the help with his program, Jacobi.
  • (20.11) No.1252 – Gani Ganapathi (PG 6; Disparate). “The final position of Black and White are mirrored!” (Author)
  • (19.11) No.1251 – Vitaly Medintsev (hs#3,5). The black Queen smartly intercepts the roles of Bishop/Rook.
  • (19.11) No.1250 – Mario Parrinello & Ofer Comay (h#2; Sirene; Neutral Sirene; Nightrider-Locust). “…inspired by Mario’s 8th Prize in StrateGems 2015… shows similar mates like in the original problem, but the strategy is different.” (Ofer Comay)

The Judge of JF fairy tournament 10/2017-03/2018

After a long time… the one who was the first judge ever of JF’s fairy tournament, had to analyze about 200 fairy problems and finished the Award in a year after competition, is kindly accepting this job again! I’m very glad to announce the judge of current fairy tournament, JF-10/2017-03/2018 – famous Indian composer, International Master of FIDE – Shankar Ram! To the words I’ve written about Shankar in 2012, he’s added the following: 

  • From 2012, Got back to composing, judging, article writing, getting in touch with chess problem friends
  • Current interest: Acquiring new gadgets and porting Popeye to them!

  • (12.11) No.1146.2 – Paul Rãican (PG 17; Masand). Hopefully, the final version to No.1146, published after the end of tournament but before the award is made, accepted by the judge of PG/Retros 2015-16 Thomas Brand.
