(20.11) No.1247.1 – Bosko Miloseski (h#3; Grasshopper). A new version to No.1247.
(20.11) No.1253 – Bernd Gräfrath (PG 11; Losing Chess). Dedicated to François Labelle for the help with his program, Jacobi.
(20.11) No.1252 – Gani Ganapathi (PG 6; Disparate). “The final position of Black and White are mirrored!” (Author)

(19.11) No.1251 – Vitaly Medintsev (hs#3,5). The black Queen smartly intercepts the roles of Bishop/Rook.
(19.11) No.1250 – Mario Parrinello & Ofer Comay (h#2; Sirene; Neutral Sirene; Nightrider-Locust). “…inspired by Mario’s 8^th Prize in StrateGems 2015… shows similar mates like in the original problem, but the strategy is different.” (Ofer Comay)

I’m glad to present a new logo for JF! No, no, not my work, a professional one. 🙂

And together with a new logo, a new look of Original Problems page, the one you can see if clicking on the upper menu. It’s not only about the list of informal competitions presented in the table now, but also about the links to the Awards added for each competition for your convenience (I hope!).

The Judge of JF fairy tournament 10/2017-03/2018

After a long time… the one who was the first judge ever of JF’s fairy tournament, had to analyze about 200 fairy problems and finished the Award in a year after competition, is kindly accepting this job again! I’m very glad to announce the judge of current fairy tournament, JF-10/2017-03/2018 – famous Indian composer, International Master of FIDE – Shankar Ram! To the words I’ve written about Shankar in 2012, he’s added the following:

From 2012, Got back to composing, judging, article writing, getting in touch with chess problem friends
Current interest: Acquiring new gadgets and porting Popeye to them!

(12.11) No.1248 – Peter Harris (h#2,5; Circe; Sentinelles PionAdvers; Transmuted Kings; Anti-Andernach).
(12.11) No.1146.2 – Paul Rãican (PG 17; Masand). Hopefully, the final version to No.1146, published after the end of tournament but before the award is made, accepted by the judge of PG/Retros 2015-16 Thomas Brand.
