Question (C. Pacurar): Are help-selfmates and “direct de série” compositions excluded or allowed?
Answer (L. Riguet): Yes, you can compose hs or direct série !

Hmm… I am quite disappointed with this answer. It actually changes rules in the middle. In my view, the original announcement was clear enough that it asked for directmates, helpmates and selfmates only. Note to organizers – if you want to have wide set of possible stipulations in the tourney, say it at once, at the beginning, especially in such quick tourney. Imagine composers who work hard in limits set by original announcement and then rules change, completely new problems are admitted… sorry, this is not good.

Dear Juraj, please don’t take those tournaments at these meetings not so serious – they are just fun and “usually” everything is possible. Those cooperative judges are very tolerant on what they will expect – if it is only interesting enough to attract their attention. Thta is at least my experience from Andernach. I remember one tournament where the quite restrictive requirements were so much lowered that my entry received the first honored mention after several prices with the comment: “this is the first entry following strictly the tournament requirements”… My entry was really weak but some of the prices were great problems that would probably never have been composed with stricter judges. One of those you can see in FIDE-Album 1986-88 as G104. It used PWC instead of the required Circe…
