Although the announcement had allowed any kind of chess composition and any stipulations, only twomovers with cyclic change of defensive motifs were submitted. Not even a single problem did come on the theme change of harmful effects. Much to my regret, there were no threemovers or selfmates.   • (22.08) No.588 – S.N. Ravishankar & N.Shankar Ram – A joint work by two Indian friends with unprogrammed fairy condition All-in-Chess. Warm welcome to S.N.Ravishankar in Original Problems section of JF!
  • (22.08) No.587 – Stephan Dietrich – An aristocratic Miniature with two fairy conditions!
  • (19.08) No.586 – Nicolas Dupont & Paul Rãican – This time Back-to-Back condition is used in PG problem! Authors main idea was a construction of Schnoebelen Queens.
  • (15.08) No.585 – Neal Turner – Three different mates by a black Royal Grasshopper in s#2 with detailed author’s comments!
  • (15.08) No.584 – Seetharaman K. – Three interesting variations of white pawn’s play with Back-to-Back!

1-11th of August, 2014:

  • (11.08) No.583, 583.1 – Daniel Novomesky – Author presents the basic, computer tested, PG problem in 6,5 moves with 2 interchanges; and also an extended version, in 13,5 moves, partly tested, but with a richer thematic content.
  • (08.08) Fairings No.39 by Chris Feather is added to the Articles section. The guest of this issue – Juraj Lörinc.
  • (06.08) No.582 – Hubert Gockel – A miniature with Back-To-Back condition and tempo-moves! Just a half move longer than required by 14th Japanese Sake Tourney.
  • (01.08) No.581 – Juraj Lörinc – An interesting play of Chinese pieces with a rich specific motivation!

  • (28.07) No.578.1 – Ladislav Packa – AUW with a use of 5 magic squares! A new version of No.578 created during discussion to No.578 with Dominique Forlot.

  • (23.07) No.575 – Petko A. Petkov – Author has sent this problem to illustrate some important moments of a play in Disparate-problems, in particular, how to create tries and anti-duals.
  • (22.07) No.569.2 – Mario Parrinello & Nikola Predrag – One more joint improved version to the problem No.569.
