Imitator – exploring the features…

jv-scrIt is happened that after publishing No.638 I’ve started to discover IMITATOR for myself. I haven’t used it before, and to my surprise I’ve found it very interesting and really enjoy learning about it – from the definitions and inventor till the features and implementations.

I’ve decided to write about it in the Forum as it is a separated theme, related mostly to the Imitator in general, but not to the published original. Also, what I’ve discovered is not an article yet, but just some thoughts and ideas. I’d like to find even more with your help!

Today I’ve made an accent to the ?astling and en passant with Imitator in my post. But I have some other topics I’d like to show where I need some more help from you.

As I said, I think it’s good to use Forum for such thematic postings, but if anybody feels uncomfortable about registration for using Forum, you are welcome to leave your comments levitra generic europe here, to this posting! Thank you! – Julia.

Originals 01-141114

1-14th of November, 2014:

  • (14.11) No.642 – S. K. Balasubramanian – A nicely shown synthesis of the two fairy conditions!
  • (12.11) No.641 – Peter Harris – Interesting and complicated miniature. And some words to the programmers again … :)
  • (10.11) No.640 – Nicolas Dupont – Yet another curious problem for the discussion, including null-moveep-capture and Circe Parrain effects!
  • (09.11) No.639 – Peter Harris – Tanagra-Aristocrat with an interesting play of the Royal Queens! A rare case: Peter’s problem without fairy conditions! 🙂
  • (07.11) Py2Web – A new version of the program allows to show the departure square for the move, like instead of 2.g4 it can show 2.g2-g4. Dear authors, you’d help me a lot if you send me numbers of your problems (or links to them) and moves needed to be shown with their departure square in the animated solution! As I remember it was needed for Back-to-Back condition and somewhere also…
  • (02.11) No.638 – Oliver Sick – What happens if there’re more than one Imitator on the board?
  • (01.11) No.637 – Peter Harris – Interesting thematic mates to the both Royal Pieces – rR in (a) and rR+rB in (b)!

Animated diagrams use Py2Web by Dmitri Turevski and WinChloe’s graphics.

Best Problems magazine invites the judges

best-problems-AG

A magazine has to publish originals. The composers ask the awards, otherwise don’t send other originals. To have the awards, the judges are necessary.
Accordingly my appeal, published on this site (thanks Julia!).

These are the tourney that need judges:
urgent: BP 2011-2012 #2 | BP 2012-2013 Fairy | BP 2013-2014 #2
other: BP 2014-2016 S#2/3 | BP 2014-2015 H#2 | BP 2014-2015 H#3/n | BP 2014-2015 Fairy

I will be very thankful to whoever it will accept to judge the tournaments above writings.

JF Migration: at the new home!

faviconDear Friends, I was going to do software updates on Julia’s Fairies, but have changed the order of my plans. So, software updates are postponed to the future, but these days I’ve migrated the site to another hosting company, eLinks Hosting (LV). The team of eLinks has about 17 years of experience in Web design/graphics and starting from the hosting for their clients has grown into company with international hosting services. These days I’ve had a great experience with support team of eLinks, who has done the migration so professionally and fast, almost without my own participation! I’m happy that JF has safely moved to the new home, from Dallas to the datacenter in Germany. I hope, it will be a nice home!

Tonight I have 2 new problems for publication. I’m grateful to the authors, as always, but this time I’d like to ask you to wait for publication till tomorrow, as I just need to explore the new home a little, and also to celebrate the event with some wine. I really was worried a lot the last days… Please write me emails if you’ll find that anything works wrong! Thank you! – Julia
