WinChloe – a new release in May 2014 &
update of Echecs database!
  • A new version of WinChloe solving program (by Christian Poisson)  is released in May, 2014! From the Readme of WinChloe 3.26: 

    Bug corrected concerning some pawn mates in intelligent mode.

    New conditions programmed:
    Annan
    Kreuzzwang blanc
    Kreuzzwang noir
    Masand

  • The latest update (as of 12-Apr-2014) of WinChloe Echecs database is available for those, who uses it. The number of problems has increased till 520660!  
  • 365 of original problems published at Julia’sFairies are added to WinChloe Echecs database as of 12-Apr-2014. Thanks a lot to all who works under these updates!

  • (07.05) No.542 – Chris Feather – Nice thematic S-mates, surprising B-promotion! (I’ve got this problem by postal mail today. If anybody is in touch with Chris – please send him my greetings!)
  • (06.05) No.509.3 – Henryk Grudzinski  & Paul Rãican – PG 9,5; Take&Make – Another version of the complicated idea shown in No.509. Nice to see the joint work!
  • (06.05) No.541 – Michal Dragoun – Very interesting and complicated Anti-Circe play! (h#2; Lions)
  • (05.05) No.540 – Julia Vysotska – A play of two Rabbits for solvers! Although, in one phase, but  I hope that maneuvers of my Rabbits are enough complicated and pleasant at the same time.  
  • (04.05) No.509.2 – Henryk Grudzinski – PG 9,5; Take&Make – one more improvement to No.509 published on March, 7th.

The first day of informal tournament JF-2014/II! Warm welcome to the authors and the judge! Good luck to everybody in this period!

Two problems of today with a very rich content:

  • (01.05) No.539 – Vlaicu Crișan – Proca Retractor which by author’s words might be one of the most difficult Proca Retractors Circe Assassin he has composed!
  • (01.05) No.538 – Petko A. Petkov – A non-standard Disparate #2 showing author’s favorite theme in the genre Disparate-promotions!

30th of April, 2014:

The last day of informal tournament JF-2014/I! If more problems come until midnight, I’ll publish them tomorrow, but will include into this tournament. For now two very interesting Marine problems by Luis Miguel Martín close this period:

  • No.536 – Reciprocal self-blocks between black Sirens with cyclic motives!
  • No.537 – A nice reciprocal play of two Marine Knights!

End of JF-2014/I & start of JF-2014/II

Dear Friends,

Today, on the 30th of April, is the last day of the first informal tournaments of this year – JF-2014/I. I will check again all published problems and versions participating in the tournament, but for now I’d like to tell thanks a lot to all participants for a very good problems! I believe it’s a strong tournament, and I hope that our judge, Vlaicu Crișan, will enjoy his work!

As I’ve written in the post of January,1st, this year I’ve decided keep the same system as in 2013, and to split the  informal tourneys for fairy problems published on Julia’s Fairies website into 3 periods and independent tourneys: 
I – January-April, II – May-August, III – September-December. 

You’re welcome to participate in the second informal tournament – JF-2014/II, May-August, 2014!
Any fairy problem can participate, and I’m here for you to publish it as soon as I can, usually in 1-2 days.
