  • (16.01) No.694 – Krassimir Gandev  (h#2; Grasshopper; Nightrider). An elegant h#2 Aristocrat with rich strategy!
  • (13.01) No.693 – Stephan Dietrich  (h#2; Anti-Take & Make). A very active play of the neutral Pawns!
  • (12.01) No.692 – Peter Harris  (ser-hs#8; Royal neutral; Imitator; Black Maximummer; Chameleon Chess). A problem of typical Peter’s style, doubtfully possible to solve without computer. See author’s comments about testing of this stipulation by Popeye versions.

  • (09.01) No.686 – Aleksey Oganesjan  (hs#4, without fairy pieces). Beautiful Meredith, not easy to solve! If I am right this is the first Aleksey’s HS# problem. Congratulations with a very good start!
  • (09.01) No.685 – Lev Grolman & Vladislav Nefyodov  (h#2,5; Imitator). Imitator in the nice Miniature featuring a specific power of combination wK+nP! Welcome to Vladislav‘s first publication in Original problems section!

On the first day of the New Year, 2015, I wish you a happy and successful year! And as always, you’re welcome here, on JF! This year I’ve decided keep to split the  informal tourney for fairy problems published on Julia’s Fairies website into 2 periods and independent tourneys:

You’re welcome to participate in the first informal tournament this year – JF-2015/I, January-June!
Any fairy problem can participate, and I’m here for you to publish it as soon as I can, hopefully in 1-2 days.

An interesting fact about the inventor of Imitator: Gerrit Jansen (a pseudonym used by Theodorus Kok) presented the Imitator in the Fairy Chess Review, which was at that time edited by Thomas Dawson. → Read more in the Forum…
